Watercolor tattoo creates peace and dialogue

27 Sep

Times are getting too busy again in the art therapy room!  But in the midst of the mayhem of girls group and students and stuffing and needles and thread and paper and pencils and gossip and coffee… there is the opportunity to dialogue and catch up.

Here is a sample from today:

Sock Masterpieces and Tattoo Dreams

13 Sep

Art Therapy is up and running.  A gentler slower start with one on ones and smaller groups.  Sock projects are started: monkeys, cat, jack-in-the-box, platypus… Graffiti hangs in the air (well the spray paint does)… watercolor tattoos and real tattoos on bananas!  And the next stop motion animation is percolating as is the coffee machine!

Here are today’s thumbnails– featuring sock monkey masterpieces made Summer 2010 by Sarah O., Maryellen testing Sarah’s new tattoo machine on willing fruit, Miko testing spray paint and water soluble graphite, Misha watercolor tattooing a wolf on her own forearm, Kat sketching a cross around Jordan’s pre-existing design…

Filmmaker and dear friend of Kat, Patti Henderson, stopped by our window exhibit at District 319 and took these magical vintage style Hipstaprints on her i-phone!  This window display goes down soon.  New one coming in Winter 2010!
