UPDATE April 27, 2010
My goodness! Carole brought in the monkeys she and her friends made. They were all adorned with beautiful costumes and brimming with personality!. Thank you Carole for your amazing help! 2A’s continued their Operation Sock Monkey sessions started last week and tomorrow homeroom 1D joins in. CRAZY! Homerooms 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B and 2E have all been involved as well as tons of staff. We are all looking forward to Auntie Lynn’s creations (she need only donate one of her 15+ monkeys- really, Lynn)… Deb’s and Lenore’s monkeys have personalities beyond wonderful! Jen has the fever (Ian can verify that)! It warms my heart to have staff like Jen and Jessica drop by for supplies. Carole has made a fantastic large Operation Sock Monkey sign- so next week we’ll get all the kids and staff who have participated in KLASS-OSM via making monkeys or through donations together and take THE BIG SHOT! I am so excited seeing people so happy. Staff are carrying monkeys around, I find staff in corners sewing and my art therapy room stays open past 4 PM with people sewing sewing sewing… I was saying to a colleague today that I love thinking about all the thoughts contained in the monkeys- how the maker has sat in deep concentration and each stitch contains a thought, a thread, a journey… - Kat
